Vintage Milling Machine Dividing Head Tailstock, Machinist, Metal Fabrication

Description

This is a vintage Tail Stock for a Milling Machine, and used in conjunction with a Dividing Head Chuck (not included)  The point can be fixed at an angle, and the point can extend and retract. The point sits 4.25" above the base when parallel with the base.

The alignment pins beneath it are made for 9/16" slot.

As you turn the back knob to extend or retract the point, the action is stiff but smooth, (which you really want in a metal lathe) not loose or sloppy. The mechanism has a certain amount of play built in, but once the point is underway (either forward or back) there is NO play, and the point never wobbles.

The machine has been taken apart, cleaned, and oiled. You will still find a little rust and flaky paint on the non moving parts.

Faster Delivery:
I must get my items to the Post office before 1:30 pm Mon-Friday. That means in order for me to have time to prepare your package, I have to have your payment before 12 noon, for the package to go out THAT DAY.
This means that if you can get payment to me before noon, the item will come to you one day sooner than if you make the payment after noon of the same day. Of course, if you order at any time from Friday noon through Sunday morning, there will probably be an extra day or two delay.
