Description
Recently pulled from a 1940's Kennedy Metal tool box full of lots of old goodies. From the personal items in the case, we know his name and that he worked form Pratt & Whitney in Hartford Conn. from the 1930's to at least 1969.The Model 615 was still in the 1941 Union Catalog (same year as catalog number.) By 1953, they were making a different model. (The one with the circles in the tri-square. Looks older, but is actually newer.) So we can date this set before 1953.
The combination square set is in it's original box with label as shown. It was not used much and all the items are still there. Paint looks like new. Bright & shiny with a few high spots, flakes and showing rubs on high spots. All the screws are free spinning and lock well to the 12" no. 4 grade hardened blade marked as shown.
You don't find these set's everyday. I could not find a single 615-12 on eBay. (They don't even list them by model number because they don't know what model number it is.
I could not find one as nice as this. And none in their original packaging from this war era model.
More items to be listed from this tool box owned by Pratt & Whitney employee will be coming soon.
Thank for looking.
