Ridgway Sparks & Ridgway Yeddo Black & Blue Pitcher With Toft's Patent Lid 1878
Rare ironstone pitcher in the Yeddo pattern in blue transfer with hand painted blue background, with hand painted puce stripes to the handle and puce around the spout. Marked on the bottom Yeddo RSR with an English registry mark on the bottom. This mark was used by Ridgway Sparks & Ridgway  between 1873 and 1879. The English registry mark has a date code for 1878. It has a weighted pewter lid marked Toft's Patent. Patent was registered to C. Toft on February 28 1872.
Has a star shaped hairline across the base. Also has light overall staining of the type that may soak out. Some oxidation to the pewter lid and a few small dents to the edge. Otherwise good condition with no additional chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 5 1/2 inches wide from spout to handle x 8 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
