Ridgway 10.5 inch handled platter in pattern Hawthornden Brown. Antique. Crazed, Stained. This is a heavy platter at almost two pounds, pattern still strong in most places, gilding present, with some loss on the rim, clearly a plate that has been used. I have pointed out in several photos any pattern loss, glaze issues or chips. Astonishingly, there are no cracks, just deterioration from use. I have owned this piece and displayed it in a glassed cabinet for many years and shows quite well. I have not washed the piece since I bought it. A hard to find piece and pattern, it may appeal to a collector of the Brown series which in my view is far more attractive than the Blue. Take a look at the photos and let me know if you have questions. My few pieces in this pattern reflect their considerable age and use but it's about workmanship and history. And, those handles!
