    Description

Rockwell Delta compound cross slide for metal lathe work + original ppw.
This item looks to be all there minus the toolpost rocker. Comes with original 'lathe accessories/replacement parts' paperwork from the 40s.
    **************************************************
Recently acquired a lot, of which most dates to, and by indications spans some time between the 30s and 60s. Many of the items are directly from machines that are dated around 1935(bandsaw), 1946(jointer, unisaw), 1952(lathe), and some other miscellaneous parts and motors from thar era, and some other parts from a stretch of various years that run through some time in the 60s or possibly later. It was my original intention to keep the bulk of the collection and restore the tools. However, things have changed and I've alloted quite a bit of it and set much of it aside, to be sold. Much of that will be posted in the coming days as the sorting and packing of items for shipment is underway.
In this lot were a handful of Delta Tools catalogs and user guides with a lot of very useful and attractive material. It has come in handy for sorting and understanding some of the more obscure stuff and random items.
These catalogs are really neat in that every now and then the original owner actually handled one of them and circled his 'buy list/wish list', like many of us do. I assure you, I wouldn't dare further defile these cool old catalogs. What's really great is that he actually managed to purchase all these items he had his sights on. And a majority of those very items are a part of this collection listed.
I'll be listing at least 2 or 3 older original Delta repulsion induction motors that work and are in good condition. These things are tanks and I've selected these ones for sale, in part, based on size and available packing materials on hand. The first few motors that sell will also come with an original vintage warranty/warning tag, as they appeared on then when arrived in the 40s. I have a few delta tags and ONE original Century motor Green tag that's complete and squared and really unique and slick, but not in as clean of condition as the others. I may list more soon as it becomes more clear how best to ship them. There's at least a dozen old motors here that I won't feel pressed to keep. A few are original delta repulsion induction motors, about 5 or 6 Century brand, I think 2 or 3 Leland, and another oddball or two from the lot... a  DelcoRemy(?). If you'd like to inquire or have a specific type of motor you're searching for, I just may have it. As time goes, I'll try to get pictures and basic info to share here somewhere. If I know which motor to ship if I might actually have something you need, I'll at least have a target as to which one(s) to start strategizing a packing/packaging plan. Like I said, they're large and/or very heavy. A good assortment of 1/2 hp, 2 or 3 3/4 hp, and at least one 1hp(single phase)unisaw motor. ALL tools and motors were purchased with the home workshop in mind and are all set up to run on single phase. At least most, if not all, are currently wired for 110 or 115.
This gentleman had a larger chuck that looks to be from an old mill of some kind or possibly a very large drill press.. it is scribed with the marking 'USN'. It's easy to think that this feller learned a metal trade while an enlisted sailor(in the 30s, likely), and upon discharge, went to work somewhere making a healthy wage. I think it's a good guess and it fits perfectly with his kit(everything indicates a preference or at least tendency to metal work), and I rather like that thought as well, so I'll go with it. I date coded every machine and out of 6 machines, 4 of them were from 1946. The others were too old to get a precise reading. And by all appearances and the story I learned about the lifetime of this stuff, a good deal of these tools were sparingly used since the 50s, it seems likely, and believable. Much of it is used, lovingly and it's obvious he had contingency plans. Spares and planned upgrades, some of which never even made it out of the box for much besides checking the contents.
The old fashioned gentlemen that owned these tools put together a nice collection of great little American made heavy home workshop tools, and surely he spent a healthy amount on it as well. It's unfortunate and it breaks my heart a little bit to parse some of it out this way... but, circumstances deem it necessary.
A good deal of effort is being given to keeping the packing and shipping costs to a minimum and finding a good balance in packing items in ways that will keep your purchases safe on the trip.
All items will ship fully insured. Right now, the plan is to dedicate 3/4 days a week to making trips to UPS and the post office to ship packages. I've had awful experiences with fedex, recently and WILL NOT use them.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to message me. If there is any problem at any step of the way, also, feel free to reach out and contact me. I'll do my best to fill in the gaps where I can. If you'd like to or if it makes more sense to speak on the phone, that too.
Items described and in pictures are what you get. Things not included are anything that possibly made it into the background and not described. Select items may also contain a photo gallery image meant purely as informational or for referential. Few items may also contain some type of tag or paperwork of some kind, and will either be included in images alongside the tool(s), or mentioned specifically in the listing.
Thanks much, God Bless and have a great day.
