Here again we will not find any concurrence between the Indian, Chinese and Western understanding of what a chakra, pronounced (ch) as in chalk, is or what it does. As well as what color they are, where they are or what fragrance or color will stimulate any given Chakra. From what I have been able to squeeze out of the various books, it looks like the major chakra centers run down the back or spine of the person. There are over 300 chakras, all over the body. The 7 or 8 major centers that are talked about to any extent are the ones in the back. These do show through to the front as they are the most prominent of all. The various writers suggest that man is an externalization of some more subtle manifestation. The invisible body is connected to the physical via the chakras.
